Rachel works as a Program Assistant for the Office of Multicultural Affairs.  Within her general duties, she oversees the SOAR program, which is the tutoring component of Hawk Link.  She also serves as the advisor for the Asian American Student Union.

Rachel earned her B.A. in Sociology with a concentration in Social Policy from the University of Kansas in 2005.  She also received a minor in Leadership Studies.  Currently, she is working towards a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  Her specific area of study is the Historical, Philosophical, and Social Foundations of Education.  Her areas of interest include inequity in education and multicultural issues.

Prior to this position, Rachel was an elementary teacher in Houston, Texas and Helena, Arkansas.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing with her dog Gia.
