Santos Núñez is currently the Program Director
for the Multicultural Resource Center at the University of Kansas. She
has worked in higher education for almost 10 years and specializes in
diversity training, awareness and multicultural education.
In her current position at the University of Kansas, Santos oversees and
supervises the daily operations of a thriving Multicultural Resource
Center. She has overall responsibility for programs such as the Diversity
Dialogues, the Diversity Training institute, the Colors of KU Diversity
and Leadership retreat; she also facilitates several multicultural awareness
trainings for faculty, staff and student organizations.
Santos has conducted several workshops and seminars on multicultural
education; she is certified and trained through the National Conference
on Race and Ethnicity. Her areas of expertise include multicultural curriculum
design, interactive training, Hispanic/Latino issues, The Cycle of Socialization,
bilingual education, cultural competency training and multicultural education.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas and a
Master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of South
Carolina. She holds a secondary education certificate and has experience
with elementary education curriculum; currently she is a doctoral student
in Higher Education at the University of Kansas.
