Eric Thompson serves as a Hawk Link Retention Specialist in the Office of Multicultural Affairs. He will work with students enrolled in the Transitions component of Hawk Link which emphasizes support for sophomore students in the program. In this position he will focus primarily on advising Transitions students as they choose majors and seriously consider their career options.

Eric holds a B. S. in Psychology from Jackson State University; Jackson, MS as well as a M.S. in Family Therapy from Friends University; Wichita, KS. He is a proud husband and father who values family and education. Eric became involved in Student Affairs as a Residence Manager at Friends University which provided for him a solid foundation in student programming and cultural awareness. He is particularly passionate about helping young people who have been historically viewed as "high risk". As a part of his volunteer work, Eric assists high school students in the downtown Kansas City, MO area with college admissions and funding information.
