First Nations Student Union Mission Statement
- FNSA works to educate the community at large on First Nations issues and cultural aspects.
- FNSA works to provide a sense of community to First Nations students at the University of Kansas.
- FNSA provides academic and social support to assist students in being successful and reaching their academic goals.
- FNSA motivates students to further their education beyond the bachelor's level.
- FNSA works in association with the Haskell Mentor Program to encourage Haskell Alumni to be successful at KU.
About FNSA
First Nations Student Association promotes awareness and diversity of native issues and concerns.
FNSA Events and Activities
FNSA hosts a number of events throughout the year.
- Welcome Back Potluck- This is one of the first events that FNSA does in the school year. The purpose of the potluck is to introduce first-year students to the FNSA community, as well as reunite old friends.
- First Nations Heritage Month Activities: FNSA sponsors different things during the month, like discussion workshops, meetings, and the Annual Spring Powwow.
Membership
All University of Kansas students are welcomed and encouraged to become a member of the FNSA family. Undergraduate students, as well as graduate students, make up the general assembly.
