Founded: 1998 at the University of Kansas
First Hawk Link Class: 36 students in 1999
Colors: Blue and Black
Motto: “Failure is Not an Option”
What Makes Hawk Link so unique from other programs at other colleges?
Hawk Link is so unique because it takes existing programs on campus and
gets you involved. Other programs recreate or develop new programs, which
does not involve you in the campus as a whole. Hawk Link operates from an
inclusive model that will prepare you for success well beyond your college
days.
How can I participate in Hawk Link? How can I be involved?
Any freshman student can sign up for Hawk Link now or during
orientation..
Students will be encouraged to fill out the Hawk Link profile sheet. Throughout
the semester, students will be mailed information regarding Hawk Link programs,
contacted by student mentors and informed of various departmental programs.
Programs will range from academic to social and help students get involved
and learn how to manage their college career.
Will Hawk Link help me academically?
That depends on you. Hawk Link is designed to provide you with information
and services to help you be successful while at KU. We will provide you with
many opportunities, but it is your responsibility to get involved. Students
that get involved and take advantage of all programs and services have a
higher rate of success than those who do not.
